The dawn of the auspicious Dhunmukhi New year and Ram Navami gave a spirited flavour to the satsang at Othakkal Mandapam, Coimbatore today.
The Chancellor of Karpagam University and Principal of Veda Agama Patashala were the Guests of honour. Their brief narratives on the deeper significance of such celebrations combined with enchanting sacred chants by the vidyarthis had the audience spell bound. Overall the setting was just right for meditation that soon followed.
The occasion also gave us an opportunity to hear an absorbing Kalinga Narthana thillana from a young pundit. Little wonder, the charm and rhythm of this immortal song from Oothukadu Venkata Kavi, has a mystical attraction to musicians.
