PIED PIPER IN TOWN.

After the formation of the new Revenue District of the state, the AOL Satsangees at Tiruppur celebrated their 100th weekly satsang on 12th December,2009 at Shri Kanchi Kamatchiamman koil in Sheriff colony. The Serene temple complex was a witness to three hours of Ghan,Dhyan and Gyan. Shri. Arunji,our special invitee led the Satsang. He presented some lilting new bhajans which the audience relished with fervour that has now become the hallmark of THEN AMUDHAM - CELESTIAL NECTAR evenings. Echoing PUJYA SRI SRI GURUDEV'S concern on environment, Shri.Arunji paid rich tributes to some visionary public work undertaken by the local NGO groups like VALAM who are striving to improve the environment. A Special foot tapping bhajan on the five elements of nature took everyone by sweet surprise. None can stop wondering about Shri.Arunji's effort in churning out melodious bhajans in every satsang.In brief, Shri.Arunji performed the PIED PIPER ACT once again with utmost perfection.

The mind engrossed in its own nature forgets the Eternal Spirit and must return again to this world, never attaining spiritual felicity.

Yoga Vasishta is the pioneering Vedantic wisdom on the nature of existence and reality and veritably the forerunner of the Bhagavad Gita in its convergence of the paths of jnana and karma. This precious knowledge was imparted to Prince Rama at a moment of confusion and crisis when the young prince was beginning to feel a surge of vairagya at a tender age. While extolling the vairagya state, Vasishta initiates Rama into the deeper aspects of existence especially the nature of the mind. He makes a metaphorical comparison of peace, discrimination, contentment and company of sages, to the four sentinels guarding the gate of moksha. Vasishta advises Rama that the world of phenomena is nothing but a jugglery of the Mind. It can be discerned only through self-introspection.

The mind engrossed in its own nature forgets the Eternal Spirit and must return again to this world, never attaining spiritual felicity. As a sadhak, one needs to cultivate the aforementioned four traits to prevent the mind from getting distracted

In one of his many anecdotes, Sage Vasishta narrates how Sukracharya in meditation got distracted by a celestial nymph, and slipped into a reverie that led him to attachments, a series of births, till he was rescued from the twilight state and shown his true nature as the meditating Sukra. Through an elaborate understanding of the mind as the seat of illusion, Sage Vasishta exhorts Rama to adopt the path of karma, dissuading him from renunciation.

Equally, an honest man dwells amongst thieves only so long as he does not know them as such. No sooner does he come to know them than he is sure to shun their company and flee from the spot. So too the mind dwells amongst unreal dualities as long as it is ignorant of the transcendent One. But when it becomes aware of True Unity, it is sure to be united with it.

Some of the most profound moments are when we listen to these words of Vasishta:

“O Rama, maya is such that it brings delight through its own destruction; its nature is inscrutable; it ceases to exist even while it is being observed.

Just as a tree consisting of fruits, leaves, creepers, flowers, branches, twigs and roots, exists in the seed of the tree, even so this manifest world exists in Brahman.

Just as the dream becomes unreal in the waking state and the waking state in the dream, so also death becomes unreal in birth and birth in death.

It is little surprise that this pioneering wisdom has already inspired series of Holywood blockbusters in the past decade. For years now we have been keen to grasp teachings but could not progress beyond a few pages of the book. Now we have the ten CD audio pack from the VVKI Publications offering the listener a whole new experience that is soothing and meditative even as higher spiritual knowledge is narrated. We have commenced weekend sessions for each CD to help more satsangees deliberate on the knowledge.

An unforgettable spiritual retreat.

It was a dream come true for those who opted to enroll for the AMC at Tiruvannamalai between 5^th- 8^th November 2009. They got the opportunity to be inside the shrine for the curtain raiser public satsang on 4^th November savouring every moment of Arunachaleswara’s grace. Interestingly Poojya Gurudev was at this spot just weeks before, as part of the Pancha Bhootha tour. Though the entire State was in the grip of a cyclonic weather and incessant rains, the location of the retreat was completely spared much to the relief of delegates who had traveled in large numbers not only from different districts but also the two neighboring States.

The retreat was exceptional with an ambiance of flora and fauna at the foothills of a legendary mountain where over centuries many came to experience Truth and got enlightened. Towards the end of the program, the assembly took off on a Girivalam which was the icing on the cake – an unforgettable treat within a retreat!

I had just returned from AMC in Tiruvannamalai with a Divine Spirit named " Arunji".

What to say and how to say about my Gratitude towards our Beloved Master who is blessed and blessing these wonderful summits for peace- seeking souls. As Gratitude is language from the heart, I bow to Feet of our Beloved Gurudev.

We had wonderful experince of Yoga ( thanks to Teacher Ashokan ji),silence, Arunji's Knowldege and whatelse Satsangs filled with Nector for four days. It is one of THE best time in my life so far.

A soul doesn't seek more than these. Thanks to our Thiruvannamali AOL Team for their wonderful team work for the successful AMC and to the best and emotional finish touch they had given to this AMC.- Thank you Palani and Team.


Thanks to OUR Beloved Gurudev, our Loving Arunji, sensational teacher Asokan Ji and last but not least to Mr Ravichandaran who just thrown me to this wonderful experince.

மறக்க முடியாத திருவண்ணாமலை AMC

ஜெய் குருதேவ்.

நவம்பர் 5-8 நடை பெற்ற இந்த வகுப்பில் முழுவதுமாக கலந்து கொள்ள இயலாவிட்டாலும் கூட அருண்ஜி அவர்களின் ஆசிகளையும், அன்பையும் பெற நான் 7 ம தேதியன்று திருவண்ணாமலை சென்றேன். அன்று சுத்தானந்த ஆசிரமத்தில் நடை பெற்ற சத்சங் ஒரு நேயர் விருப்பமாக அமைந்தது. குறிப்பாக "நாச்சது, நாச்ச்து" பாடலும் "பரமேஸ்வராய' பாடலும் பலரை ஆழ்ந்த இறை அனுபவத்திற்கு அழைத்து சென்றது. பலரது கண்களில் ஒரு இனம் புரியாத கண்ணிரை வர வைத்த பாடல்கள் இவை. சத்சங்கத்தை தொடர்ந்து அருண் ஜி அளித்த த்யானத்தின் போது நூற்றுக் கணக்கான திரவியங்களின் வாசம் அனைவரையும் சூழ்ந்து வர்ணிக்க முடியாத ஒரு சுகத்திற்கு அழைத்து சென்றது. இந்த அனுபவம் அனைவருக்கும் கிடைத்தது.

அன்று இரவு நான் அருண் ஜி யுடன் பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்து விட்டு அவரது அறையை விட்டு வெளியேறும் போது நேரம் 11.45. வேறு ஒருவர் அப்போது அவரை சந்திக்க காத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அவரையும் சந்தித்து விட்டு இரவு சுமார் ஒரு மணிக்கு படுக்கைக்கு சென்றார் அருண் ஜி.

மறு நாள் காலை சிறிதும் களைப்பு தெரியாமல் காலை 5.45 மணியளவில் யோகா விற்கு ஆஜரானார் அருண் ஜி. அன்று காலை என்னிடம் பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்த அவர், மழையின் காரணத்தினால் தான் சுமார் 12.30௦ க்கு ப்ரோக்ராம்-மை முடித்து ஒரு மணியளவில் பெங்களூர் செல்வதாக கூறியிருந்தார். ஆனால் நிகழ்ச்சி முடிய ஒரு மணிக்கு மேல் ஆனது. அதன் பின் சுமார் 25 குடும்பத்தினர் அருண் ஜி அவர்களிடம் தனித் தனியாக போட்டோ எடுக்க விருப்பம் தெரிவித்தனர். மலர்ந்த முகத்துடன் சம்மதம் தெரிவித்தார். இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியும் முடிந்த போது நேரம் 2.30. தனது அறையை விட்டு வெளியேறி காரில் அமர சென்ற அருண் ஜி அவர்களின் ஆசி பெற மேலும் ஒரு குடும்பம் அவசரமாய் ஆட்டோ வில் வந்து இறங்கியது. சிறிதும் முகம் சுளிக்காமல் அவர்களை தனது அறைக்கு அழைத்து சென்று சுமார் 10 நிமிடங்கள் செலவிட்டார் அருண் ஜி.

நான் திருவண்ணமலையில் இருந்து காரில் சென்னை திரும்பியது போது "தேனமுதம்" என்ற சொல்லை பற்றி சிந்தித்து வந்தேன். தேன் என்பது நமக்கு தெரிந்த ஒரு சுவை. அமுதம் என்பது தெரியாத சுவை. ஆனால் அமுதம் என்ற சொல்லை ஏன் நாம் பயன் படுத்துகிறோம் என யோசித்தேன். ஒரு வேலை தெரிந்த சுவையையும் தெரியாத சுவையையும் சேர்ந்து அளிக்கும் சொல்லாக இது இருக்குமோ என புரிந்தது. இனி அருண் ஜி அவர்களை நாம் தேனமுதன என கூட அழைக்கலாம்.
